BISMARCK — Gov. Jack Dalrymple and North Dakota Department of Transportation Director Grant Levi have appointed a liaison for western North Dakota transportation development.
Dave Leftwich, a Bismarck resident who recently retired from the Transportation Department, will work with city and county officials in western North Dakota to help meet transportation needs in the state’s oil and gas region.
Leftwich, who worked for the department for 39 years before retiring in November, will work part time from an office in Watford City and travel throughout western North Dakota.
“With the increase in traffic and transportation needs it is imperative to work closely with local units of government,” Levi said in a statement.
Leftwich will also work with Rory Nelson, the state’s energy impact coordinator, who is based in Williston.
