WILLISTON, N.D. – The man wanted in connection with a fatal Williston shooting has been apprehended in Billings, Mont.
Williston Police Capt. Tom Ladwig said Jonathan Peter Horvath, 46, Sandpoint, Idaho, was apprehended on foot by the highway patrol and taken into custody.
He will be held in Montana pending extradition to Williston.
Police suspect Horvath shot 28-year-old Derrick Spiegel of Williston early Saturday outside a strip club in Williston.
Ryan N. Anderson, 31, was arrested in connection with the death of Christopher King, 32. Sheriff Scott Busching said Anderson drove King to Tioga Medical Center, where Anderson was apprehended. Both men had come to North Dakota from Michigan.
The two men were roommates at the Capital Lodge crew camp between Ray and Tioga, authorities said. The men had been drinking in Tioga prior to the altercation, which occurred in their cabin, said Sgt. Detective Caleb Fry. The weapon was a hunting knife, Fry said.
A witness alerted authorities at 4:06 a.m. Sunday.
Anderson is being held in the Williams County Jail. Bond will be set later this week.
