Keep Williston Clean Events Draw Nearly 2,000 Volunteers

WILLISTON, N.D. – A citywide effort to clean up Williston was a huge success, says one of the event’s organizers.

Dan Manjack, a contractor from Florida who is working in Williston, said 788 people volunteered during the Keep Williston Clean event on Saturday.

Before Saturday, 1,180 people from area schools, oil companies and other organizations pitched in to help the effort, for a total of 1,968 volunteers, Manjack said.

“It was successful even before Saturday started because so much had already been cleaned up,” Manjack said.

Fifty-two companies had employees who participated and 22 companies provided donations, he said.

Now the focus will shift toward keeping the city clean. Several businesses have already made commitments to clean certain streets or districts.

“You drive around this town right now and it looks so much cleaner than it has,” Manjack said.

I agree, awesome to see the degree of participation. The oil companies have left a great impression with all of the citizens of Williston.
